Happy National Gratitude Month!! - Week 2

Week Two – What a week!! While we navigate the changes we face in our personal and professional lives following last week’s election, I have been moved by a quote from Henri Frederic Amiel: “Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” While I am not very familiar with Mr. Amiel, the Swiss moral philosopher, poet, and critic, I was quite taken by the call to action from his quote – acts of gratitude. Decidedly, in an effort to express my gratitude for my work and the FQHC program, I would like to share with those interested a document that helps me feel grounded in my work on my client’s Service Area Competition (SAC).

For those of us working on the SAC it can feel overwhelming navigating the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FAO) along with the Compliance Manual. And let’s not forget the one grant condition, one-year budget period rule! Sigh… To help support my team and our clients’ process, I’ve taken the forms, developed my own, and then organized them into a spreadsheet that provides a compact yet comprehensive process for completing the application, including organizing the documentation of the Required and Additional Services (Form5A).

My team has utilized this Response Spreadsheet, as we call it, with three clients now and all have expressed how helpful it is to organize your application and FQHC program. Our most recent client expressed a sign of relief in having the outline and guidance.

Drop me an email if you would like a copy and I’d be happy to send it off to you free of charge, eileen@tremainecg.com. The only caveat is if you find a system that works well with the spreadsheet or if you make an improvement, please share them with me so we can all get a little better, a little faster, and a little smarter. And hey, it can by your gratitude call to action!

Wishing you all a grateful week,

Eileen
